We, the United Kingdom Equality Dance Council, would like you to join us in celebrating our equality dance community in the UK at the UKEDC Ball and Awards 2024!
We know our community loves dancing at the Rivoli Ballroom, so why change a venue that you love? This glamorous original 1950's style Ballroom was the London home of equality social dancing for over two decades. After bringing the community back here last year, we all enjoyed it so much, and we are excited to be back at this iconic venue for an evening of dancing! And this year, we have two great DJs to take you through the evening.

This year we are absolutely delighted to be partnering with the 20th Anniversary Special of the Equality Fun Competition which will take place at the Rivoli Ballroom during the day on 5 October 2024. So in additon to selling tickets for the ball, we are also offering combination tickets for the competition and the ball.* This means you can enjoy a whole afternoon and evening of fabulous dancing - while saving some money compared to buying tickets separately. The Equality Fun Competition is an informal and fun practice competition for starter, beginner and improver same-sex and equality dancers – everyone is welcome. Great value ticket options
We are offering a number of great value ticket options - and even better: ticket prices are lower than last year!
- Our early bird offer is back until 31 August 2024, offering lower prices for those who book early.
- This year, we are including the Evenbrite booking fee in the ticket price, making tickets cheaper overall for you!
- Members' ticket prices are now available to UKEDC members and ESSDA members, so we hope to welcome some more of our dancing friends from across Europe this year! If you are not yet a UKEDC member, why not join? It's only £15 to join and you can get some great discounts at other dance competitions and with dance shoe and dance wear suppliers.
- We are offering UKEDC Ball only tickets as well as combination tickets for the Equality Fun Competition and the UKEDC Ball together. If you buy a combination ticket, you pay less when compared to buying separate tickets.
If you decide to buy a ticket for the UKEDC Ball only, this includes:
- Ball entry (7pm - 11pm)

If you decide to buy a combination ticket, this includes all of the above plus entry to the Equality Fun Competition from 2pm to 6pm. If you buy a combination ticket, please be aware that we will pass your name and contact details to the organisers of the Equality Fun Competition so they can welcome you in the afternoon.

*While we are selling combined tickets, the UKEDC Ball and the Equality Fun Competition remain separate events and are organised by different organisations. Each organisation remains solely responsible for the delivery and content of its event.
Frequently asked questions
After the competition, the doors will close so we can prepare the room for the ball and we will re-open the doors at 7pm. You might want to get changed before 6pm but there will also be a changing room available for the ball if you require. We will also have a staffed cloakroom.
Unfortunately, it would not be worthwhile for you to request a refund of your competition ticket and then buy a new combination ticket. If you request a refund, Eventbrite will deduct the booking fee element. Please still join us and buy a ball ticket!
Yes, the cloakroom will be available at no charge.
The ball is a celebration of our community and therefore this is more than your average dance night. We have absorbed the ticket fees into our costs this year, making your ticket price lower than ever before and if you buy the combined ticket, you are saving even more!
Good question! Any surplus is used for UKEDC work, including scholarships and grants. We want to increase the amount of community support we can provide and this is the main way we can achieve this. In 2023 and 2024 we have already been able to allocate more money to grants and scholarships!
If you are buying a combination ticket, we will need to share your name and contact details with the organisers of the Equality Fun Competition. This is so they can welcome you at the event in the afternoon. They may also need to contact you in advance of the event.
